Place of Death: Brussels, BelgiumMarinovitch enlisted in the army on February 12, 1916. He
transferred to the French Air Service on July 14, 1916 and
received a Pilot's Brevet on November 15, 1916. After additional
training, he joined N38 in March of 1917. Marinovitch suffered ill
health which forced him into the hospital. When he recovered, he
was reassigned to N94 for the duration of the war. By the time the
Armistice was signed, Marinovitch had achieved 21 victories and
was the highest scoring ace in his Escadrille.

missions, showing undeniable and admirable audacity and ardor. Has
had more than thirty combats, returning often with his plane
riddled by bullets and shrapnel. On December 22, 1917, he shot

with exemplary audacity and ardor. Downed his seventh enemy plane
in two months, and was particularly distinguished during the
