Commander, Luftflotte 5 Generaloberst Hans-Jurgen Stumpff

Stumpff, another World War One veteran, served in the Reichswehr Ministerium during the 1920’s and quickly gained higher ranks within the Nazi movement throughout the 1930’s.

At the outset of World War Two he was given command of Luftflotte 5 during the Norway campaign and also co-ordinated the long range bombing missions against Northern England and Scotland during the Battle of Britain. He remained in this command until 1944.
